Letter from a Friend About God’s Deliverance

[Editor's note: At the time Terry accepted the buy-out he describes below, the employees were not yet aware of how much trouble Chrysler was in.]

God bless you Ken,
Last year at about this time, Father asked me to do something that was a little uneasy at the time. So I made sure that it was in fact He that was asking, and that it was in fact His direction for me. Then I asked Him to strengthen and help me, and to calm my fears. What He did for me was exactly what I needed to carry out His direction.
He shared with me a section of His word, and opened it up to my understanding. From His word I got the strength and conviction to carry out His will in my life regarding that direction. You see, that direction was to take the buy-out my employer (Chrysler) was offering, and to quit a job I had been doing for nearly 15 years. I was in the top 65 in seniority in the plant, and was convinced that I was safe. Unless the plant shut down, I was going to work!
After taking the buy-out, the company mishandled my paperwork and my separation date was moved back by one week. That just happened to put me into a mass layoff for the plant. The company now had to pay me a week of unemployment before I could quit. Not only that, but contractually that put me into a period of time covering bonuses, holiday, vacation and paid allowances. That one week meant that not only did I collect a week of unemployment pay, but now they were obligated contractually to pay me for the Christmas holiday (2 weeks of paid leave), all of my next year’s vacation pay (4 weeks pay), next year’s paid personal days off (40 hours), and a 3% bonus.
Not only did that one week allow me to collect money the buy-out was intended to avoid, but it also pushed back the termination date for my medical insurance. The insurance was being changed over to a new company the week after my coverage was to end should I have been separated at the proper time. But as it turned out, my termination being delayed by one week caused the company to extend my coverage until the changeover was complete and they could send me notice of my right to extend the coverage on my own. That little glitch extended my insurance coverage by 6 weeks.
In the end that mishandling of my paperwork allowed me to collect over $6,000.00 more than the company had counted on, and extended my medical, dental and optical insurance for an additional 6 weeks. The extension in the insurance coverage just happened to coincide with the start of our new insurance coverage supplied by my wife’s employer; we never were without health insurance throughout this whole ordeal.
It was then I saw just how personal my Father was, and just how wonderfully He took care of me and my family. It was then too that I learned how trustworthy our Father is. Below is the scripture Father shared with me in my time of need.
I hope you enjoy this as much as I did.
In His service with much love,
Terry

God has helped me in several situations. It is really true of God that I am praying to God about my feelings and pressures handling day by day. I got the solutions from by praying the God. He is my real godfather. I must be his follower forever. There is no doubt about the existence of God is true. I really saw in many situations I told earlier. God is watching all the things we are doing in real time.
Good Article
I love this psalm and its translation into more modern English. I think it fits nicely with your story, Terry. I am very happy to see that our Lord is taking care of you in this way. It is also incredible that you attribute these things that seem to happen by chance to the Lord. He watches over us in ways we may not see. Many times I think that God will not help financially, because the meek will inherit the earth. Then I realize that God tests us too. Sometimes things must be taken from us for us to appreciate what we had. On the other hand, sometimes we have to be given things to see what we will do with them, whether or not we will use them as tools for bringing others closer to God. You are, with your stories and sharing.
I really enjoyed this article. It hit home in more ways than one. You see, I am also an auto worker and our company has been offering the buyouts to their employees as well. I love that God is a God who cares for the little things in our lives. We can go to him for everything. It is very inspirational that he still speaks to us today. Many people would think you are crazy if you told them that God actually speaks to you. But as with this individual, I know God speaks as well. There are several ways he can speak. In this case he spoke through his word. Whether he speaks to you in your sleep, audibly in your prayers or in scripture, be assured that he speaks! When the Lord does speak the impossible usually happens. The abundance of his blessing will fall upon you. This article is inspirational and encourages me to read his word more and more for his guidance in my life. Blessings to our God who is and was and always will be.
If you want to hear from God read the word and ask God to speak. Sometimes all we need to do is ask. Sometimes in order to hear God all we need to do is be quiet and listen. Sometimes that is the most difficult thing to do is to quiet our minds.
Hmmm.. i can just tell u r very lucky.. i do believe in god. but more than that i believe that ur deeds in the past determines ur future. and sometimes i feel everthing is prewritten. god is there in each and every human being. and our soul knows everything.
God, who spoke the world and all that inhabit that world into existence, is capable of anything. With God, nothing is impossible! What’s more, the Bible says God owns the cattle on a thousand hills; in other words, He is never limited by money. We should never be surprised when He intervenes in our lives in amazing ways!
At the same time, God is not a genie in a bottle. He does not grant all the wishes made by “good†people, people with much faith, or people who have offered Him something in return. The same sovereignty that makes Him capable of anything also means His ways are not our ways. Sometimes He doesn’t act in ways we would like; sometimes he doesn’t grant our wishes.
The important thing to remember is that God is GOD, and that God loves us. He demonstrated that love by making provision for us to be made acceptable in His presence through Jesus’s life, death, and resurrection. Even when God doesn’t do what we wanted Him to do, we can trust that He loves us and has a master plan at work. Life Daniel’s three friends, we can say, “God is able to save us. But even if He doesn’t, we still choose to follow Him.â€
This is a great article expressing a feeling of the person. It’s really a true thing that every action of us is being watched by The Almighty. He will never let us down. Our prayers will surely have an answer. Even when we are in a situation where we are left alone by everyone in this world and we are in danger. A prayer to the lord will save us from all kinds suffering. Everyone should pray everyday to the Almighty, he is our only saviour in all times.
This article is an excellent example of God working in our lives today. Too often people think of God’s miracles as Biblical events that happened long ago. The truth is that God is very much performing His miracles in the lives of His people today. He even takes care of employment issues for us!
This is a wonderful story of God’s grace in action. God will always help us if we have faith on our journey and if we are sincere in our prayers. God’s help and deliverance is because we share with him our inner thoughts when we pray and God is all knowing, which means that the way that he helps us is exactly what we need in our lives, although sometimes until it happens we do not realize it.
I also hold the words of Psalm 121 close to me.

Hello.
I do believe in God and I am happy to hear and see people still listening to God’s words and trusting him in this time of recession. We need to be hard just as God wants us to be. At least from outside so we can survive these troubled times.
God talks with us and guides us only because He knows that we have the potential to do what he asks. We just need to trust him and carry on with the work entrusted upon us. He is the ultimate guide any living being can ever have.
Nowadays doing the work which we are supposed to do is a big deed in itself. People today while away their time speaking and gossiping about others when they can spend the same time nurturing an honest living. These times are hard and honest ways are hard to come. We need to change ourselves, just what God need us to do. He is our creator and he has a plan. We need to behave well on this planet which is ours and live in peace. God’s guidance comes to those who do their work with utmost zeal and devotion, since devotion in work is devotion in God himself.
