II Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. [KJV]

Welcome to The Brown Bible.

We are dedicated to the research and teaching of God’s wonderful Word. What makes us different? Read a few articles and find out. Key ingredients on this site are both reason and a deep respect for the integrity of the Scriptures. You won’t find any unfounded tradition here, just straight Bible.

The core series of our postings is the section on the gift of righteousness: “Romans on Righteousness” (Part 1, Part 2, & Part 3), “Two Natures?” (Part 1 & Part 2), “Who is the Old Man and What is He Doing?,” “No More Conscience of Sins,” and “What is the Story with 1 John 1:9?” (Part 1 & Part 2).

Some other postings are designed to correct common misconceptions. These include “Live by the Sword, Die by the Sword?,” Creation, Science, and Genesis 1,” “Luke 15 and the Prodigal Son” and others.

There are also articles such as “What About Tithing?” and “The Right to Your Own Opinion” that are designed to make clear what God”s Word says about certain practical matters of Christian living.

I trust that the fundamental principles laid out in our “How to Research the Bible” section will be helpful.

You can read personal stories about how God has blessed people”s lives or even share your own story on our “What Has God Done For You?” page.

On the lighter side, check out the Whimsical Items category. There you can enjoy humorous articles and videos, such as Christmas with a Capital C by Go Fish.”

It is our goal, as more people get involved, to post new material every day. You may find articles by these contributing authors under their own bylines or under Guest Authors. For now, we are endeavoring to add a new post at least every week.

All Scripture references are King James Version unless otherwise stated.

We invite you to participate. Please rate the articles and comments you read by clicking on the stars or thumbs. Or better yet, join the conversation by leaving a comment of your own. Please help us get the word out to the rest of the world by sharing them with your favorite social network. It’s easy too! Just click on the icons shown at the end of every article. We recommend sharing with your friends at FaceBook & Twitter. Also, please share with Digg, StumbleUpon, Del.icio.us & Propeller.

Thank you for visiting. Enjoy, and God bless you.
